Lahia Condominiums Location and nearby attractions
Lahia Condominiums are located in Cancun Mexico, situated on the Caribbean Ocean. Unlike the beaches on the Pacific side of Mexico the water here is very clear and a warm 82F deg year round. This region is home to the second largest barrier reef in the world providing excellent snorkeling and diving adventures close to shore.
Lahia Condominiums can be found on the map below situated on the southern section of the hotel zone between the Westin Regina and the Sun Palace resorts. We are just 8 miles (10 minutes) from the airport and often the first stop for the airport shuttle drop offs.
Restaurants Cancun is known for excellent food and entertainment at the restaurants. There are 4 restaurants at the Westin next door that guests visit and also JC Captains seafood within 2 minutes walking distance of Lahia. Some of the best restaurants such as Grill 14, La Dolce Vita, La Distelleria are 5 - 10 minutes by taxi or bus. Some of our favorite restaurants are down town including Rolandi's Pizzeria & Italian Food, La Habichuela, Pericos, La Parilla and 100% Natural. These are 25 minutes drive via Mex 307.

Bars and Night Clubs Cancun's world renown "Party Zone" is at the Forum shopping plaza just 15 minutes away by bus or taxi. There you will find Senor Frogs, the Hard Rock Cafe, Chilis restaurant, the Rain Forest Cafe and numerous bars and night clubs including the famous Coco Bongos and Dady'O. Be ready with your dancing shoes and prepare for fun times at the open air bars and indoor night clubs. The flea market selling touristic stuff is open until 10pm as well.

Groceries Grocery shopping is best at Superama a gourmet grocery store situated in the Sam's Club shopping block just 12 minutes drive from the condo. Superama features quality meats and seafood and very fresh produce and baked goods. They probably have your favorite cereal from home as well. Also in the plaza you will find a Starbucks coffee and La Europa selling imported wines and European foods.
No car or don't feel like going grocery shopping, no problem, just provide a list of your grocery items to our Lahia concierge and they will arrange for Superama to deliver to you. Just pay when they bring it up to your apartment!
Snorkeling Cancun's snorkeling and diving area is just a few minutes walk south along the beach from Lahia. In this bay behind Club Med you will find coral reefs designated by marked buoys. Along the way by the beach you will also find a rocky peninsula brimming with sea life, iguanas, a light house, a blow hole and tide pools to explore.

Sea Turtle Nesting In mid July and August sea turtles next along the beach right in front of Lahia. On the special nights you can carefully watch these massive turtles come up along the beach and dig their nests. A biologist carefully retrieves the eggs every night and moves them to a designated safe area. In about 8 weeks the 100 + baby turtles hatch and are released to the ocean. This is an incredible experience that builds unforgettable memories for the young and old.

Whale Sharks: The northern waters off the coast of Isla Mujeres and Holbox islands are home to a population of whale sharks. These docile fish eat plankton and can been visited with tour boats from Isla Mujeres or Holbox during the summer months from June through August. Whale sharks are very gentle and this is a fun and safe experience. Whale sharks do not have teeth.
Fishing is abundant year round. One can charter large boats for deep sea fishing excursions or smaller boats for up to 4 persons. Marlin, barracuda and Dorado are the most prevalent catches for sports fisherman.
